We recently completed packaging for a beauty product that used various printing elements to great effect. The design, finishes, and extra touches all worked together to draw attention and encourage customers to pick up the product and learn more. Let’s point out the features that VDC used as we created this gorgeous final product.

• Soft Touch Finish. Nothing screams “hold me” more than a soft finish on the carton. It makes you want to pick up the product just so you can run your finger along the edge to feel the velvety smoothness.
• Custom Die Cut. The simple shapes used here to make an eclipse become complex and high-end when engineered as a die-cut. The two elements below—foil stamping and layers—work together to create drama and tell the product’s story.
• Two-layer design. The “eclipse” title for the product brings to mind shadows vs. light, and the packaging actually creates that effect with the foil layer placed under the die cut. While all the design elements are great, this is our absolute favorite!
• Foil Stamping. The rose gold foil stamping on the product packaging is echoed on the side icons and plus symbol at the bottom, and used to dramatic effect on the interior layer.
